17th Century Immigrants
There were ten men of the Waite surname who settled in New England by 1663. Most of you who can trace your Waite ancestors back to New England in the 17th century descend from one of these men.
Follow up:
Richard, Marshall of Boston, b. 1596, of Boston by 1634
Gamaliel, brother of Richard above, b. 1598, of Boston
Thomas, brother to Richard and Gamaliel above, b. 1601, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island by 1639
Richard, b. 1608, of Watertown, Massachusetts by 1637
John of Malden, son of Samuel, b. 1618, of Malden, Massachusetts by 1644
Thomas, probably the son of Samuel of Malden, of Ipswich, Massachusetts by 1658
Alexander of Boston by 1637
George of Providence, Rhode Island by 1646
John of Windsor, Connecticut by 1649

I have been looking for my forbears, starting with Thomas (Portsmouth, RI), then Benjamin, then Jeremiah, then Nathan. The section called "Descendants of Thomas Waite" seems to end around page 19, and I can't find a continuation. I hope you have time to help. According to our family records, the line went on with another Jeremiah, another Benjamin, my great-great grandfather Eustus, my great-grandfather Frederick P. Waite, then my grandmother, his daughter, Marietta Waite Thompson Thomas (whom I knew when I was a little girl).
Congratulations on a wonderful site!
Best, Anne
